I loved this book - the insanity of it all. Frustrating, heartbreaking, and yet still hopeful. Near the end of the war, an American bomber squadron stationed in Italy is stuck. Every time they reach their quota of missions, the mission count is extended. Yossarian is trying to get out alive. He tries to convince them he's crazy, but a sane person would never say they are crazy, and the crazy people never say they are crazy, so everyone, crazy and sane alike, re stuck in their "Catch-22."Of course, lots of near misses, hits, and other adventures. A lot of snappy dialogue and great quotes. I really enjoyed it the first time I read it.And the fact that over a decade later I still remember all this puts this book in my favorites.
