It's probably not a good idea to start a series at book 5, but that's what I did. I don't think it made much of a difference, to be honest with you. It was pretty easy to get caught up to speed, and I wasn't confused. This one was OK - there were a couple of sweet romantic spots, the heroine was likable (for the most part), but then I had to remind myself that these characters had pined for each other for 700 years! 700 YEARS! And he had lots of sex while she, of course, remained untouched by any other man. Yeah - I'm not feeling that. So while the book flowed well, and the action was pretty good, I couldn't really get into it completely.
